We finally made it up to the room at about 4:00 and Karlie was still in the admissions nursery getting checked out. The nurses came in every 30 minues the first hour and a half to check on me. We finally went to sleep at about 5:30 and the pediatrician was there to talk to us at 7 a.m. We were so excited to see her that we didn't care. Here's a picture of the first bottle we gave her and the first poopie diaper that daddy changed. As you can see I am still in the hospital gown because I had to do a few things for the nurse before I could shower.
Here are some of Karlie's visitors from her first day...
Mamaw and Karlie (Uncle Keith came too, but for some reason I don't have a picture of them together.)
Nana came back up to visit with us and bring some Premie clothes so that Karlie had something to wear. She also brought us a beautiful flower arrangement and baloon.
Karlie was so little that none of her newborn clothes fit, so Aunt Trac went on a shopping spree and bought two bags full of Premie clothes for the peanut!
Rowyn Sommer and Karlie. Rowyn is the daughter of our good friends, Chris and Megan, she is 5 and a half months old. Chris is the one who introduced Kyle and I years ago.
Megan Sommer and Karlie
Chris Sommer and Karlie
Cousin Amber and Karlie
Kaden and Karlie. Kaden was so confused when Aunt Mary told him Karlie was already here! We have been telling him she would be here right before Santa Claus. He told Aunt Mary that Karlie wasn't supposed to come before Thanksgiving. He was so excited to see her. He brought her pink roses with a really cute card.
Cooper, Kaden and Karlie. Cooper wasn't sure about her. As soon as I handed her off to Tracie he jumped up in bed with me and sat in my lap.
Aunt Mary, Kaden and Karlie
Uncle Al and Karlie
Ashley McKethan and Karlie. She is expecting her first little one in May. We can't wait to find out what she is having!
Lindsay Sharp and Karlie
Uncle Deuce, Kolten, Aunt La La and Karlie. It's hard to believe that a seven months ago Kolten was as little as Karlie.
Karlie, Kaden, Kolten and Cooper. Look how good Kaden is with the babies. He's a great cousin!
Kolten in Uncle Kyle's hat
Timisha Chapman and Karlie (We didn't get Jason's picture for some reason.)
Sharon Rhodes and Karlie
We had a few other visitors that managed to miss the camera. Thank you Melissa Scarborough for the plant and coming to see us. Thanks Kevin Prince and Jessie for coming to visit us and for the entertainment while you were there! Kevin, I think I'm ready to go dancing now.
Hope you all enjoy!
Love,
Kyle, Shanda and Karlie
